NOON PRAYER

Our Midday Prayer

O Lord God, we acknowledge you again today. We declare to everyone that the Lord our God, the Lord is one. We pray that we will always love the Lord our God with all of our hearts and with all our souls and with all our minds and with all our strength. Matthew 22:37 Although we are not strong, you help us in our weakness. Romans 8:26 Today I pray that you will guide us into all the truth. John 16:13 “With my whole heart I seek you; let me not wander from your commandments! I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” Psalm 119:10-11 Keep us from sin, O God. “Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground!” Psalm 143:10

O Lord, again today, we pray for forgiveness. We pray that you will Have mercy on us, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out our transgressions; Psalm 51:1 and Create in us clean hearts, O God, and renew a right spirit within us. Psalm 51:10 “Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.” Psalm 51:12

Lord, we forgive all of those that have trespassed against us for you say in your word, “… if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” Matthew 6:14 We confess our sins to you today for you say, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”  I John 1:9 Thank you for your forgiveness today!

Lord, we ask you for wisdom today, knowing that you give wisdom generously to those that ask. James 1:5 We will not lean on our own understanding, for we acknowledge you, O God. Keep our paths straight we pray. Proverbs 3:5-6 Instruct us and teach us in the way we should go. Counsel us. Keep your eye on us, Psalm 32:8 so that our hearts can plan our way, and you can establish our steps. Proverbs 16:9 We pray for wisdom from above. A wisdom that, first, is pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere. James 3:17

We seek counsel from you today, O Lord and from Godly men; for we believe your word “…in an abundance of counselors there is safety.” Proverbs 11:14 We believe, “… the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth comes knowledge and understanding; he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of his saints.” Proverbs 2:6-8 Now we pray that we walk in your wisdom and guidance; for we know what your prophet Jeremiah said: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11 Thank you LORD for your plans for us.

“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 Lord help us that our every effort today is “through” you; for we need strength from you; but we will fear not for we know that you are with us; nor will we be dismayed, for you are our God;  We know that you will strengthen us and you will help us, and you will uphold us with your righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10 So we will wait for the Lord to renew our strength. Isaiah 40:31

We will not grow weary of doing good; Galatians 6:9 but, with God’s help, we will remain steadfast under trial; for we believe that when we have stood the test, we will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those that love him. James 1:12 We know that the testing of our faith produces steadfastness. James 1:3 Now we pray for the endurance that we need so that we may do the will of God. Hebrews 10:36 We pray that we endure until the end!

O Lord let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake us; bind them around our necks; write them on the tablets of our hearts. So that we will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man. Proverbs 3:3-4 We do not pray for wealth; “For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his soul?” Mark 8:36 So we will keep our lives free from love of money, and be content with what we have, for you have said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” Hebrews 13:5 “I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.” Philippians 4:12 So “How much better to get wisdom than gold! To get understanding is to be chosen rather than silver.” Proverbs 16:16 To have wisdom and understanding from you, O God is what we consider to be success.

O Lord, we pray for peace today. Peace for this world, our country, our state, our county and our community. We pray for peace among us and for peace in our individual hearts! “So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding;” Romans 14:19 for we know that to “… set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.” Romans 8:6 “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3 Thank you for peace, O Lord!

You are the “… Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 So we will “… not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.” Matthew 6:34 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians  4:7

“And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Peace! Be still!” And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” Mark 4:39 How awesome are you, O Lord that when you calm a raging sea or a trouble heart your first rebuke the wind—the cause of the raging. Then your first command to the raging sea or heart is “Peace!” Then you tell the sea or the heart to “Be still!” That brings both peace and calmness to the sea and to a heart. We ask you today to rebuke the cause of turmoil and to give peace and calmness to our world!

O God we pray for healing and restoration for people and for lands today. We believe what you say in your Holy Word. “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” II Chronicles 7:14 The enemy of our soul has caused much suffering and destruction in this world; but you have promised that: “And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” I Peter 5:10

We ask that you restore to us the joy of your salvation, and confirm us with a willing spirit. Psalm 51:12 We will be obedient to your word, O Lord! “Return to your stronghold, O prisoners of hope; today I declare that I will restore to you double.” Zechariah 9:12 Our stronghold is in you O Lord. Keep us in-Christ we pray. We are prisoners of hope, today, we pray for a double portion of the Holy Spirit.

Lord, I thank you for my wife, and our family today. We pray that each of them will seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness. Matthew 6:33. And if they abide in him, and his words abide in them, they can ask whatever they wish, and it will be done for them. John 15:7 He will supply all of their needs. We pray that they will seek counsel from the Wonderful Counselor for all of their problems; for he says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.” Psalm 32:8 We pray that all of them are “in-Christ.” We ask that you continue to keep them in-Christ and that you will keep them safe and protect them from all evil.

Lord, in the parable of the good Samaritan in Luke chapter ten, you teach us to be a good neighbor—to help those that we see in need. We pray today that our eyes are always open to the needs of those we can help. “So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.” Galatians 6:10 You have said, “if you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday.” Isaiah 58:10 We love your promises!

Mankind has nothing to give to you, O God but his heart and his worship! But you have told us to: “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” Hebrews 13:16 And “Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.” Philippians 2:4 You tell us, O Lord that if we do those things: “‘… ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’” Matthew 25:40 You count our help to others as help to you! And you promise this blessing also: “give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” Luke 6:38 Lord we are humbled today that your abundance of blessings are always greater than our giving! Help us, we pray, to please you in our giving.

In obedience to your word, O Lord, we pray for all people and those is high positions. For you say in your word, “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.” I Timothy 2:1-2 We pray that the decisions of those in power will lead to a peaceful and quiet life! “When a man's ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.” Proverbs 16:7  We want to please you O Lord. So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding. Romans 14:19 Then “In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.” Psalm 4:8

As a beautiful song says, we have nothing fit for a King to express our gratitude. So today we use words that your prophets and apostles wrote about you to express our thanks and gratitude. We give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, and his steadfast love endures forever! Psalm 107:1 We give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus. I Thessalonians 5:18 We know that every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights. James 1:17 Thank you for every gift: for the Holy Spirit, for family and friends, for all the material things you have given us, and for a country where we have freedom to read your word and to worship you, O God! Now we give “…thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 5:20

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,

for ever. Matthew 6:9-13 [KJV]

To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen. I Timothy 1:17

In Jesus’ name we pray!
