MORNING PRAYER

Our Prayer to Start Our Day

O Lord God we acknowledge you today. We declare to everyone that the Lord our God, the Lord is one. We pray that we will always love the Lord our God with all of our hearts and with all our souls and with all our minds and with all our strength. Now help us, O Lord, to love our neighbor as ourselves. Mark 12:30-31 We have set our hope fully on the grace that will be brought to us at the revelation of Jesus Christ. I Peter 1:13 We look for your revelation to all mankind and to your appearance in the clouds!

We trust in you, O Lord, with all our hearts. We will not lean on our own understanding. In all our ways we will acknowledge you; for you make our paths straight. We pray that we will not be wise in our own eyes; but that we will fear the Lord our God and fear him only. Help us to turn away from all evil. Proverbs 3:5-7

Thank you Lord that you are our provision; but you have taught us that in whatever situation we are in to be content. We know how to be brought low, and we know how to abound. Thank you that we can do all things through Jesus Christ who strengthens us. Philippians 4:11-13 You, Lord Jesus, give us our strength through the Holy Spirit.

Whatever we do, in word or deed, we do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17 For “…God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:9-11 Lord Jesus, today we worship and adore you. Lead us today we pray, O Lord, and help us in our weakness. We do not know what to pray for this day. For only you know what is in store for us today. We ask that the Holy Spirit intercede for those things too deep for us. “And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.” Romans 8:26-27  Now lead us today and intercede for us we pray!

O Lord we pray for forgiveness today. We pray that you will Have mercy on us, O God, according to your steadfast love; according to your abundant mercy blot out our transgressions; Psalm 51:1 and Create in us a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within us. Psalm 51:10 Restore to us the joy of your salvation, and uphold us with a willing spirit.” Psalm 51:12

Lord, we forgive all of those that have trespassed against us for you say in your word, “… if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” Matthew 6:14 We confess our sins to you today for you say, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”  I John 1:9 Thank you for your forgiveness today! Thank you for the cleansing power of your precious blood.

O Lord, we pray for ourselves today—that you will guard our hearts and minds. We thank you this morning for watching over us last night and for waking us up this morning. Thank you for another day to serve you! We pray that you will help us to fulfill your purpose for us this day. O Lord of hosts, who tests the righteous, who sees the heart and the mind, Jeremiah 20:12 We pray that you will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus this day! Philippians 4:7

Help us to set our minds on things above and not on things that are on earth; Colossians 3:2 that we will put off our old self and be renewed in the spirit of our minds. Ephesians 4:22-23 We pray that we will not be conformed to this world; but rather that we are transformed by the renewal of our minds so that by testing we may discern what is the will of God is and what is good and acceptable and perfect before you. Romans 12:2 We pray that a thought never forms in our minds and becomes embedded in our hearts that would cause us to say something, do something, or even think something that would cause our souls to be lost!

O Lord, we ask that you guard our eyes. We pray that you will turn our eyes from looking at worthless things; Psalm 119:37 rather let our eyes look directly forward, and our gaze be straight before you. Proverbs 4:25 Having our eyes fixed on all your commandments, Psalm 119:6 open our eyes that we may behold wondrous things out of your word. Psalm 119:18 We will meditate on your precepts and fix our eyes on your ways. Psalm 119:15

Lord, we pray today that we will incline our ears to your words. Bring us to you; that we may hear your words that our souls may live. Isaiah 55:3 Let us hear what God the Lord will speak; for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints. Psalm 85:8 We are your sheep; now help us to always hear your voice and follow you. John 10:27 May we always hear the whisper of the Holy Spirit. Let us be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger. James 1:19 Help us to listen to advice and accept instruction that we may gain wisdom. Proverbs 19:20 Let our words be fitly spoken so that they will have worth before you, O Lord. Now let us be perfect in hearing the Holy Spirit and perfect in our obedience to his leadings!

Set a guard, O Lord, over our mouths; keep watch over the door of our lips! Psalm 141:3 Let no corrupting talk come out of our mouths. Ephesians 4:29 For we know on the day of judgment we will give account for every careless word we speak. Matthew 12:36 Help us to bridle our tongues! James 1:26 Let our “yes” be yes and our “no” be no, so that we may not fall under condemnation; James 5:12 rather, let the words of our mouths and the meditation of our hearts be acceptable in your sight, O Lord, our rock and our redeemer. Psalm 19:14 Now, “O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise.” Psalm 51:15

Lord, let our work be to lay up treasures in heaven; for we know that where our treasures are our hearts will be there also. Matthew 6:20-21 What our hands find to do for your kingdom, we will do it! You say in your word, “He who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap. Ecclesiastes 11:4 We will regard neither. We will do those works you have for us. And we will work regardless of wind and clouds; for we know that you are with us. We are your workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, we will walk in them. Ephesians 2:10 Help us to let our light shine before others, so that they may see our good works and give glory to our Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16 Let our light be a reflection of the Holy Spirit to those that are lost, we pray.

Lord, help us to ponder the path of our feet; that all our ways will be sure. Proverbs 4:26 We know that you guard the paths of justice and watch over the way of your saints; Proverbs 2:8 and that our steps are established by you, O lord. Psalm 37:23 Keep our steps steady according to your promise, and let no iniquity get dominion over us. Psalm 119:133 Hide your word in our hearts; for “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105 “Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths.” Psalm 25:4 Help us to never swerve to the right or to the left; turn our feet away from evil, we pray. Proverbs 4:27  Now we trust you to keep us from all evil and to keep our lives. For you promise us that you will keep our going out and our coming in. Psalm 121:7-8

Lord, I thank you for Sharon today. You have given me an excellent wife! She is far more precious than jewels. Proverbs 31:10 Help me to love my wife as I love myself. And help her to respect me. Ephesians 5:33 I thank you that she looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Proverbs 31:27 Lord, I pray that you will help us to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which we have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Ephesians 4:1-3

Lord, we thank you for our family today. We pray that each of them will seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness. Matthew 6:33 And if they abide in him, and his words abide in them, they can ask whatever they wish, and it will be done for them. John 15:7 He will supply all of their needs. We pray that they will seek counsel from the Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace for all of their problems; for he says, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.” Psalm 32:8 We pray that all of them are “in-Christ.” Keep your eye on them we pray.

In obedience to your word, O Lord, we pray for all people and those is high positions. For you say in your word, “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.” I Timothy 2:1-2 We pray for a peaceful and quiet life! We want to please you. For, “When a man's ways please the Lord, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.” Proverbs 16:7 “So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.” Romans 14:19 Then “In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.” Psalm 4:8 And “You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.” Isaiah 26:3

We will obey your word and love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us. Matthew 5:44 “May the Lord give strength to his people! May the Lord bless his people with peace!” Psalm 29:11 There is “a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace.” Ecclesiastes 3:8 O Lord, we pray that in our time that it will be a time to love and a time for peace! Now just as the apostle Paul asked for boldness to proclaim the “mystery of the gospel,” we ask that you give us boldness to declare the gospel, your word, at every opportunity. Ephesians 6:19

We pray O Lord the we will receive your words and treasure up your commandments. Make our ears attentive to wisdom and incline our hearts to understanding. Proverbs 2:1-2 Help us to understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God. For you give wisdom; and from your mouth comes knowledge and understanding. You, O Lord, store up sound wisdom for the upright; and you are a shield to those who walk in integrity, guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of your saints. Then we will understand righteousness and justice and equity, every good path; for wisdom will come into our hearts, and knowledge will be pleasant to our souls; discretion will watch over us, understanding will guard us. Proverbs 2:5-11

We pray for wisdom; for in you are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. Colossians 2:3 Now help us to fear the Lord only; for the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom, and to turn away from evil is understanding. Job 28:28 We pray, O Lord, asking you that we may be filled with the knowledge of your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding; Colossians 1:9 for we know that you give wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding. Daniel 2:21 Again, we know that “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding.” Psalm 111:10 Now we ask that you let the Spirit of wisdom and understanding and the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord rest upon us. Isaiah 11:2 We thank you that your ways are not man’s ways; for with you is wisdom first, then understanding, and then knowledge.

We give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, and his steadfast love endures forever! Psalm 107:1 We give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus. I Thessalonians 5:18 We know that every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights. James 1:17 Thank you for every gift: for the Holy Spirit, for family and friends, for all the material things you have given us, and for a country where we have freedom to worship you, O God! Now we give thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:20

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread,

and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory,

for ever. Matthew 6:9-13 [KJV]

We know that very soon your kingdom will come to this earth. Your will, will be done. Then all on earth will be delivered from evil. Thank you Lord that you have given us our daily bread and that you have forgiven us all of our sins. Thank you that your word says that no temptation has overtaken us that is not common to man. You, O Lord are faithful and will not let us be tempted beyond our ability to overcome; but with the temptation you will also provide the way of escape, that we may be able to endure it. I Corinthians 10:13

As King Solomon prayed we now pray, O my God, let your eyes be open and your ears attentive to this prayer we pray today. II Chronicles 6:40

To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. I Timothy 1:17

I ask every petition today in the name that is above every name—in the name of Jesus I ask for these things! Amen.
