Prayer May 1            Deuteronomy 18 ............. Ecclesiastes 10 ............... Acts 9

O Lord, keep me from the abominations that you hate so much! Help me to listen to the words of your Son that he has spoken and now speaks. For I know that you require obedience to your word. Give me the ability to discern what is true and what is not in this world.

Help my heart to be inclined to you, O Lord. Give me wisdom, I pray, that I may walk in your statutes. For you say in your word—a wise man’s heart inclines him to the right. May I do what is right in your sight. Never let me do wrong to another person, even in my thoughts.

Help me to walk in the fear of the Lord and the comfort of the Holy Spirit. That I may in all things please you. May I be full of good works and charity—the works that the Father has prepared for me to do, help me to do them, I pray. In Jesus’ name I ask for all of this.  Amen.

Prayer May 2           Deuteronomy 19 ............. Ecclesiastes 11 ................ Acts 10

O Lord! Help me to never bear false witness against my brother; but rather help me fear the Lord and judge righteously those matters that I should judge.

May I walk in the way of my heart that is turned to you, O Lord. Help me to work both in the morning and in the evening; for I do not know what will prosper. I will work when the wind blows and when the clouds gather; for my trust is in you Lord and in your word.

Thank you Lord that you have cleansed that which was once unclean and poured out your Spirit on the Gentiles. And thank you for baptism in your name, the name of Jesus. I pray continually for your favor. Let me give generously to those in need. O Lord, I know that there is no partiality with you and that you are no respecter of persons. Let me live in the fear of the Lord and in a way that pleases you. In Jesus’ name I ask for all of this.  Amen.

Prayer May 3           Deuteronomy 20 ............. Ecclesiastes 12 ............... Acts 11-12

O Lord! I know that it is you that goes with me to fight against my enemies—the victory is yours! So do not let me be discouraged if the number of those against me are many.

Thank you Lord that I learned of my Creator in the days of my youth. Help me to keep you in my heart for I know that I will return to dust and my spirit returns to God who gave it. I am encouraged by the words of your teachers and preachers; for I know the words of the wise are like goads—given by one Shepherd. Let me fear God and keep his commandments for this is the whole duty of man—knowing that you will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing whether good or evil.

Let your Spirit fall on me—may I be filled with your Spirit so that my life will be lived in you! Help me to stay full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. May I always be faithful to you. Thank you for delivering me from the prison of sin where the devil sought to take my life! Keep your angels close to me I pray. In Jesus’ name I ask for all of these things.  Amen.

Prayer May 4           Deuteronomy 21 ............. Song of Solomon 1 ......... Acts 13

O Lord! Let every dispute be settled by your word—by those chosen to minister and judge every controversy. I pray that the blood of no one is ever on my hands. Cleanse me today of every thing that displeases you that I may be guiltless.

Your name is the oil that anoints me. Draw me after you, I pray. I will exalt and extol your name, my Lord. Help me to follow the tracks of the flock—to pasture beside the Shepherd’s tent. I will be glad and rejoice in you. I remember your steadfast love.

Help me to follow the example of the apostles of old—to fast and pray and worship you before every decision. Then help me to go—to do your will. Your word is an encouragement to me. Thank you that you fulfilled your promise to send a Savior—Jesus Christ with a message of salvation. Thank you for redemption and the resurrection. I know that through your name I have forgiveness of sins and I am freed from everything that the law could not free me from. Forgive me my every trespass, I pray, as I forgive those that trespass against me. In Jesus’ name I pray.  Amen.

Prayer May 5           Deuteronomy 22 ............. Song of Solomon 2 ......... Acts 14-15

O Lord! I am my brother’s helper and keeper. Help me to have love and compassion for him. To lift him up and help him in his need.

You are the rose of Sharon—the lily of the valley—the bright morning star—my redeemer. I delight to sit in your shadow, O God. I desire to hear your voice and to follow you. Speak to me, O Lord I pray. Let your day breathe in me and the shadows of darkness flee.   

Let me be encouraged and let me encourage others to continue in the faith. Thank you that there is no distinction between Jew and Gentile. For you have cleansed my heart by faith. Help me to never accept any yoke of law or men’s doctrine that I may be free in you. May I always be called by your name. Thank you that I am saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus! Keep me in-Christ I pray. In Jesus’ name I ask for all of this. Amen.

Prayer May 6           Deuteronomy 23 ............. Song of Solomon 3 ......... Acts 16-17

O Lord! Help me to keep myself from every evil thing. May I keep every vow to you and do what I have promised with my mouth. Teach me to be quiet, I pray!

May I seek you until I find you! And may you be known to me! I will hold to you and not let you go. I look forward to your soon coming for your Church, in all of your glory.  

O Lord, let me hear your voice and your leadings so that I do not do or say anything that you have not ordained. Wherever I am, may I always find a place of prayer. Open my heart to hear your word. When I am in trouble I will pray and sing hymns to you Lord. Not that you need human hands to serve you; but let me serve you with my whole heart and mind and strength. I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Keep me in Christ, I pray. In Jesus’ name I ask for all of this.  Amen.

Prayer May 7           Deuteronomy 24 ............. Song of Solomon 4 ......... Acts 18-19

O Lord! Let me never knowingly oppress the poor and needy; but rather let me have compassion and show kindness whether he is a brother or a stranger.

Help my heart to be captivated with your love; for you are better than all created things! I worship you, O Lord!

Lord, give me courage to speak your word in every circumstance and to not hold my peace. For you are with me. Thank you Lord that I believed on you and was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And that I spake in tongues when I received the Holy Spirit. Thank you again for the Holy Spirit! In Jesus’ name I ask for all of this.  Amen.

Prayer May 8           Deuteronomy 25 ............. Song of Solomon 5 ......... Acts 20

O Lord! Help me to be fair in all of my dealings—that dishonesty will be far from me. Keep my heart awake and my mind stayed on you. Help me to be innocent of the blood of my brothers.

While I sleep, keep my heart awake; for I listen for your knock. I will open the door of my heart to you. Come in and abide with me, I pray.

Help me to serve you, O Lord, with all humility of mind—with tears and steadfastness. Let me proclaim your word to one and to many. Help me to pay careful attention to myself and to care for the church of God. I will watch and pray. Thank you for grace. In Jesus’ name I pray.  Amen.

Prayer May 9           Deuteronomy 26 ............. Song of Solomon 6 ......... Acts 21-22

O Lord! I willingly give to you the first fruits of my increase; for they belong to you!  Look on my afflictions when I cry to you Lord. May I do and keep all of your commands, statutes, and rules with all of my heart and with all of my soul and with all of my mind!

I declare today that you are my Lord and God, that I will walk in your ways and obey your voice. For you are pure and holy—the perfect one. Let me be a witness to every one—of what I have seen and heard. I thank you that you have washed away my sins—covered them with your blood when I called on your name. In Jesus’ name I thank you for everything.  Amen.

Prayer May 10           Deuteronomy 27 ............. Song of Solomon 7 ......... Acts 23-24

O Lord! Help me to keep your commandments today. Write the words of your law on my heart that I might not sin against you and that I might remember where you brought me from and where I am going! Help me that I never worship creature or creation or anything made by the hand of man; but rather I will worship my creator and Lord God.

Help me to live my life before God in all good conscience every day of my life. My hope is in the resurrection of the just. That just as Jesus Christ was resurrected that I will be resurrected on that last day. Thank you that I can worship you according to the Way—you are the Way. Help me to take courage—to testify to the facts about you, O Lord. It is in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Prayer May 11           Deuteronomy 28 ............. Song of Solomon 8 ......... Acts 25-26

O Lord! Help me to faithfully obey your voice; to be careful to do all of your commandments, that I may have the blessing of the Lord. Bless me when I come in and bless me when I go out. I will keep your commandments and walk in your ways. Establish me and help me to be holy before you I pray.

Lord help me to never commit any offense against anyone. I pray today that I remain your servant and your witness to those things you have done in my life. Thank you that my trust is in the power of God. Thank you for opening the eyes of the Gentiles—for helping me to turn from darkness to light and from the power of sin to the power of God. Forgive my every sin and give me a place with those sanctified by faith. In Jesus’ name I ask for all of this. Amen.

Prayer May 12           Deuteronomy 29 ............. Isaiah 1 ........................... Acts 27

Oh Lord! Give me a heart to understand and eyes to see and hears to hear your word. I will keep the words of your covenant and do them that I may prosper in all that I do. Establish me today as your servant. You are my God. May my heart never turn from you.

Let me learn to do good—to seek justice—correct oppression and to bring justice to the fatherless and to plead the widow’s cause. Thank you that you forgave my sins. Although my sins were red like crimson your blood made them white as snow. I am willing—now help me to be obedient—to eat the good of the land. May I never refuse you or rebel against you, O Lord. I take heart that you will save me if I obey!

Lord, thank you that even when the storms of life are raging and my ship is wrecked, you will save me if I obey your word spoken through your servant. Now help me to have faith as Paul had! Thank you that you have revealed salvation to me—and to me belongs redemption through your blood and faith in your name.  In Jesus’ name I ask for all of this.  Amen.

Prayer May 13           Deuteronomy 30 ............. Isaiah 2 ........................... Acts 28

O Lord! Your word is near me. It is in my mouth and in my heart; help me to speak and do your will. Help me to always choose life and good—to love the Lord my God—to walk in his ways—to keep his commandments and statutes and his judgments—for he is my life.

Let your house, O Lord, be established and exalted above all mountains and hills. Let all nations flow to your house. Teach me your ways so that I may walk in your paths—walk in the light of the Lord. I long for the day when you are the judge of nations!

I pray that you will help me to expound and testify to the kingdom of God. And that I might persuade others of the your salvation that has been sent to us—the Gentiles—help me to listen to your voice! In Jesus’ name I pray.  Amen.

Prayer May 14           Deuteronomy 31 ............. Isaiah 3-4 ........................ Colossians 1

O Lord! Help me to be strong and courageous and to never fear nor dread those who can only destroy the body.  I know that you go before me and will never leave or forsake me. I will not fear or be dismayed—for my trust is in you, O Lord.

I long for that day when the branch of the Lord will be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the land shall be the pride and honor of the survivors of Israel. Thank you for your promise to restore Israel.

Now fill me with the knowledge of your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding so that I may walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. May I be strengthened with all power according to his glorious might, and that I may endure. I give thanks to the Father who has qualified me to share in the inheritance of the saints of light and has delivered me from the domain of darkness and transferred me to the kingdom of his beloved Son—in whom I have redemption and the forgiveness of sins. I thank you for all these things. In Jesus’ name I pray.  Amen.

Prayer May 15           Deuteronomy 32 ............. Isaiah 5 ........................... Colossians 2

O Lord! Let the earth hear your words. And let your teachings drop as rain in my soul. I will proclaim the name of the Lord and ascribe greatness to you—O God. For Great is the Lord!

Help me to never be wise in my own eyes or shrewd in my own sight; but rather let me seek your wisdom and knowledge. Then I will have true wisdom and knowledge of truth.

I pray that my heart may be encouraged being knit together with my brothers in love so we can reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, which is Christ.  Help me to die to the elemental spirits of the world and to never submit to regulations made by man that have no value; but rather to avoid the appearance of their wisdom—seeking rather the wisdom of God. In Jesus’ name I pray.  Amen.

Prayer May 16           Deuteronomy 33-34 ....... Isaiah 6 ........................... Colossians 3-4

O Lord! There is none like You. May you be my eternal dwelling place and may your everlasting arms be underneath me. Thrust out all of my enemies. And give me peace I pray.

I am lost without you, O Lord! And I am a man of unclean lips—cleanse me of every thing that is unlike you. Thank you that my guilt is taken away and my sin is atoned for. Help me to see with my eyes and hear with my ears and understand with my heart that I may be healed.

Then I will seek the things that are above and set my mind on you; for I have died and I am hidden with Christ in God. May I live in a way that I will appear with Jesus in his glory. Now help me to continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful with thanksgiving. Help my speech to be gracious. And seasoned with salt. In Jesus’ name I ask for all of this. Amen.

Prayer May 17           Joshua 1 .......................... Isaiah 7 ........................... 1 Thessalonians 1-2

O Lord! Help me to be strong and courageous and to turn neither to the left nor to the right; but to be steadfast walking the straight way. Put your words in my mouth and in my heart that I will do all according to your word. I meditate on your word night and day.

Lord, help me to be careful, be quiet, to never fear and keep my heart from being faint about anything that comes against me. Thank you that Isaiah prophecy came true when your Son was born. Thank you for giving your Son to the world!

Now, help me to please you and not man—for you test my heart. May my heart be acceptable to you. I will hide your word in my heart that my words will be words from you. Help me speak them for the right reasons! In Jesus’ name I ask for all of this. Amen.

Prayer May 18           Joshua 2 .......................... Isaiah 8 ........................... 1 Thessalonians 3-4

O Lord! Hide me from the enemy of my soul. And may I always remember you and those that have helped me. May all who hear and read of your mighty works fear you. Let their hearts melt within them and may they recognize that you, O Lord God are Lord of the heavens and the earth.

Now save me, O Lord, from the river of invaders that seek to overcome me. I will not fear them. Rather I  will fear God and give him honor; for he alone is holy, holy, holy! You alone, O God, are worthy of all glory, honor and praise.

Direct my way to you and may I abound and increase in my love for others. Establish my heart, blameless in holiness—before my God and Father. Help me that I control myself in holiness and honor. Keep me in brotherly love. I aspire to live quietly minding my own affairs that I may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one but you, O Lord. May I hear your voice at your coming! And meet you in the air to be with you forever. In Jesus’ name I ask for all of this.  Amen.

Prayer May 19           Joshua 3-4 ....................... Isaiah 9 ........................... 1 Thessalonians 5

O Lord! May I never forget the work of your hand—and may I always follow the ark of your new covenant—so I know the way that I must go. Let all the peoples of the earth know that the hand of the Lord is mighty and may the fear of the Lord my God be forever.

Thank you that the people who dwelt in a land of great darkness had a light shine on them when your Son came to earth. Thank you for giving your Son! For he is a Wonderful Counselor, a Mighty God, an Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. And His kingdom is established with justice and righteousness.

Do let me be fooled when people are saying there is peace and security for peace and security are in you only. Let me stay awake and be sober—that I may prepare for the day of the Lord and that I am found ready and waiting. Help me to rejoice always—to pray without ceasing. Now help me allow the Spirit freedom to rule in my life. I will listen to prophecies; but test everything—holding fast to what is good. Now sanctify me completely. In Jesus’ name I ask for all of this. Amen.

Prayer May 20           Joshua 5-6 ....................... Isaiah 10 ......................... 2 Thessalonians 1-2

O Lord! Do not let me perish because of disobedience; rather let me eat the fruit of the land of Canaan! May I hide the messengers from God from those that seek to destroy them.

And may I never oppress the needy or the poor; but rather seek justice for them. In my troubles I will flee to you for help. With your help I will never have any idols that would cause your wrath. Keep me from the idolatry that you so hate, I pray. I am in your hand—you can do with me what you wish; but I ask for your love and mercy, your grace.

Again, I ask to  be saved from your vengeance O Lord for I know you and I seek to obey the gospel. I pray that you will make me worthy of your calling. May I not be deceived; but have my eyes open so that I can see what is happening and what your hand is doing! Now save me through sanctification by the Spirit and belief in the truth. In Jesus’ name I ask for all of this.  Amen.

Prayer May 21           Joshua 7 .......................... Isaiah 11 ......................... 2 Thessalonians 3

O Lord! Help me to never break faith so that your anger will not burn against me.

May the Spirit of the Lord rest on me and may I have wisdom and understanding that comes from you. Let my fear be only of you, O Lord; for you are a righteous judge. Keep me in you—for the time of the end.

Now Lord, I ask that you establish me and guard me. Direct my heart to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ. Now help me to never grow weary in well doing; but follow your example daily—find a desolate place to pray and to rest in you. In Jesus’ name I ask for all of this. Amen.

Prayer May 22          Joshua 8 .......................... Isaiah 12 ......................... 1 Timothy 1-3

O Lord! Help me to keep all the commandments of your law. To fight when you say fight and to destroy when you say destroy!

You are my salvation. I trust in you and will not be afraid; for you are my strength and my song. With joy I draw water from the wells of salvation. I give you thanks—I call upon your name—I will testify to your deeds and I will exalt your name to others.

O Lord, you came into the world to save sinners! Thank you Lord for your mercy. Help me to wage the good warfare—holding faith and a good conscience. Help me to devote myself to your Words and to the stewardship from God that is by faith. To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

Prayer May 23            Joshua 9 .......................... Isaiah 13 ......................... 1 Timothy 4-5

O Lord! Before any decision or covenant help me to ask and wait to receive counsel from you. So that I may not be fooled by the cunning of the enemy. Help me to keep covenant with you only, O Lord.

I know that the end is near for I hear the sounds of the Lord of hosts mustering a host for battle and nations gathering together. All of the things you spoke through Isaiah are beginning to happen. The end is near—when all evil will be destroyed.

Help me to devote my time to the Word of the Lord and to never depart from the faith. Help me to keep a close watch on myself and on my writings. Help me to keep your rules without prejudging and to do nothing from partiality. Let me never be bound by the rules of men; but rather let me receive everything from you with thanksgiving and prayer. All things created by you are good! In Jesus’ name I ask for all of this. Amen.

Prayer May  24            Joshua 10 ........................ Isaiah 14 ......................... 1 Timothy 6

O Lord! May I never fear the enemy. For I know that you have given him into my hand.

Give me rest, I pray, from my pain and turmoil. For you have broken the staff of the wicked and the scepter of rulers. I pray for the day when the whole earth is at rest and quiet and singing breaks forth. I know that as you have planned so shall it be, and as you have purposes so shall it stand. Satan has fallen from heaven—the third heaven. May he be thrown down from the second heaven soon.

Help me to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, steadfastness, and gentleness. Help me fight the good fight of faith—to take hold of eternal life. Help me to always follow your instruction to the letter. Have compassion on me and bring me to my eternal home with you. Help me guard the deposit entrusted to me and to never swerve from the faith. May grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and from Christ Jesus my Lord be with me today, I pray. In the name of Jesus Christ, my hope, I ask for all of this. Amen.

Prayer May 25            Joshua 11 ........................ Isaiah 15 ......................... 2 Timothy 1

O Lord! Help me to never be afraid of the enemy; for you have already won the battle. Though the enemy camps all around me—I know that you give them into my hands. Thank you for victory, Lord. Help me to always do as you command me!

You saved me and called me to a holy calling for your own purpose and grace, which was given me in Christ Jesus before the ages began. Help me to follow your instruction—to be obedient. I know that earthly gain is nothing—help me seek the heavenly. Lord, fan into flame the gift you have given me, and help me to not fear; but rather give me power, love, and self-control. In Jesus’ name I ask for all of this. Amen.

Prayer May 26            Joshua 12 ........................ Isaiah 16 ......................... 2 Timothy 2

O Lord! I thank you that you have given me an inheritance with you. Kings and kingdom fall at your advance. Thank you for fighting my battles! I long for the day when I will have rest from all of my enemies and when I will be at home with you, O Lord!

I thank you that you are faithful, that you grant counsel, you seek justice, and that you are swift to do righteousness. Thank you for the hope I have that your throne will be established in steadfast love, and that you, the faithful one, will sit on the throne of David.

Help me to flee worldly passions. I have died with you so that I live with you. Now help me endure to the end. I have named your name, O Lord, and I have departed from iniquity. Now I pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace. Help me to avoid foolish and ignorant controversies; but rather help me to be kind to everyone, able to teach, and to patiently endure trials. I repent of every thought or deed that is not of you! Lead me to a knowledge of the truth. In Jesus’ name I ask for all of this. Amen.

Prayer May 27           Joshua 13 ........................ Isaiah 17-18 .................... 2 Timothy 3-4

O Lord! You are my inheritance! Let me always look to my Maker and not to the works of my hands and fingers; for the works of my hands are temporal.

I look to my maker. I look not to the altars and the works of my hand. May I never forget the God of my salvation and the Rock of my refuge. I seek you, O Lord my God.

Bless O Lord my efforts to learn your word. I seek to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. Your word is truth. I believe that all Scripture is breathed out by God! Now help me to endure sound doctrine—listen to truth. May I fulfill the ministry that you have for me. Finally, help me to fight a good fight, to finish the race, and to keep the faith;  that I may receive the crown of righteousness. I love the hope of your appearing Lord! In Jesus’ name I ask for all of this. Amen.

Prayer  May 28           Joshua 14 ........................ Isaiah 19 ......................... Titus 1-3

O Lord! Let me do as you have commanded. I pray for the day when I will be at rest in you and that I have rest from war! Your kingdom come I pray!

Let my altar in the midst of Egypt be to you. When I am oppressed, send to me a savior and a defender to deliver me. Only your hand can deliver me! Touch me I pray.

Now help me to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions and to live a self-controlled, upright, and godly life in this present age. I am waiting for that blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. Redeem me from all lawlessness and purify me for your own possession. Thank you for saving me according to your mercy and by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit. Renew me today, I pray. In Jesus’ name I ask for all of this. Amen.

Prayer May 29           Joshua 15 ........................ Isaiah 20-21 .................... Philemon 1

O Lord! Help me to dwell in peace with those around me—never compromising your purpose for me. Give me springs of water, I pray—the living water from you.

Lord, I am naked and barefoot before you. Clothe me with the whole armor of God and with humility I pray. Help me to be a watchman. Let me announce what I hear from the Lord to all for their edification.

Let me share my faith—that I may become effective for the full knowledge of every good thing that is in me for the sake of Christ. Help me to be obedient to a word from the Lord. And help me to refresh those that are around me with words of encouragement. May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with my spirit. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.

Prayer May 30           Joshua 16 ........................ Isaiah 22 ......................... Hebrews 1-2

O Lord! Let me live in harmony with those around me but never compromise your truth. I know that you shut and no man opens; you open and no man shuts. Let me be aware of my limitations knowing that my strength is in you. And that my existence is in-Christ.

Thank you for sending your Son—the heir of all things—through whom the world was created; and he upholds the universe by the word of his power! He is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature. Thank you for speaking to me by your Son. Thank you that he is merciful and a faithful high priest—that makes propitiation for my sins. Help me to pay much closer attention to what I hear of your word, lest I drift away from it; for what is man that you are mindful of him? May I humbly serve you forever. In Jesus’ name I pray for all of this. Amen.

Prayer May 31           Joshua 17 ........................ Isaiah 23 ......................... Hebrews 3-5

O Lord! Again, help me to dwell peacefully with my neighbors—my brothers—doing to them according to your word. Although the enemy is strong and well equipped, I know that you will help me drive them out.

For you, O Lord have purposed to defile the pompous pride of all glory and to dishonor all the honored of the earth. You alone are God and you alone are worthy of all glory and honor.

I have come to be in-Christ. Help me to hold my original confidence firm to the end. Let me with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that I may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Lord Jesus, you are the source of eternal salvation. Help me to obey you. I know that you will supply my every need in a way that pleases you. I will offer prayers and supplications to you—help me to learn reverence and obedience. I pray that I will enter into your rest when my work on earth is finished. In Jesus’ name I ask for all of this. Amen.
